100% that whole floor needs covering it limits the chances of tiles cracking and coming up also will stop the floor sounding hollow.

Hi, I am just wondering whether a tiler needs to trowel a floor by covering 100% of it or is it ok to do it other ways to either save time or make sure the tile sticks to the floor. Does it depend on whether the floor is level too? I am asking because I'm not sure whether you HAVE to stick to British Standards or they're their merely for recommendation and guidance. Thanks in advance.
