Tiling Floor around bath

Posted by Nava Page, on
I would like to tile my bathroom floor over the existing vinyl flooring. There is virtually no space between the bath side panel and the floor. could I tile around the bath and silicone the edge to the bath in place? Thanks, N.

Hi here is some advice on tiling your bathroom floor. 1) don't tile on top of vynil take it up 2) once removed if it's floor and the boards have any holes or are loose they need fixing down and plywood fixing on top screwed at 300mm centres if concrete ignore this bit 3))remove bath panel and tile under the bath up to the legs cut bath panel with a hand saw bit tricky but can be done and refit 4) if you tile up to bath panel you will not be able to get it off in an emergency. 5)please beware that you have to use different adhesive and grout for different surfaces. Hope this helps regards Alistair Ewen A and Bathrooms Mansfield.
