Hello Jody, You would need a builder. You would need building reg Regards Michael
Hi Jody As the other guys have stated I suggest you use a builder as a hole will need to be cut on both sides of the wall and a lintel fitted on top to accomadate the new hole. The builder would then have a joiner fit the new window. Planning permission may well be required as it is unclear if you are widening an existing window or creating a new one also are you in a conservation area or listed building. If so you will almost certainly require planning permission. Regardless, you should require a building warrant which ensures you are still within regulation building methods and EU regulations on heat loss. However this can add quite a bit to your quote for drawings and application so most would do without (Not that I am condoning that). Hope this helps Kind regards Gary
Hi Jody The company will either need to be FENCA registered or get building regs to sign it of for you. Regards Andy Thornton
I don't think you will need planning permission unless you are overlooking another property and a larger window may invade their privacy. I would suggest a builder does the work as the hole will have to be cut bigger in the wall and a longer lintel installing
Any good window fitter should be able to put a window in and take out old brickwork planning permission I shouldn't think so
