Reducing road noise with double glazing

Posted by Steve Chapman, on
I have a bay window with double glazed units which do a good job at reducing most road noise, except for low frequenciies. There is a speed bump outside and the noise of traffic accelerating away from it seems to reverberate through the room.  Would units with two different thicknesses of glass do a better job and would they fit inthe existing frame, or would secondary glazing be a better solution?

Hi Steve, you can fix in same distance a triple glass unit, but if you have a trickle vent the noise still going to go

Hello Steve Double glazing will be good if you have the rebate in the glass. Secondary glazing is also good but it look ugly Regards Michael
