French doors and replacement front door

I am wanting to replace old patio doors with french doors, know they will need side panels as the space is large so would also have small windows inpanels. Would it be an easy job in terms of taking one out and putting one in and would it be cheaper to buy ready made and have independently installed?
Also need new front door would UPVC be the cheapest as opposed to composite?What is the difference Will be selling house in a few years time so only want to ensure it meets security requirements as opposed to looks.Again would supply and fit be morecost effective or purchase and have fitted , what sort of prices should I be expecting?
