Double glazing unit

Posted by Sonia Agnew, on
Can a failed double glazing unit with condensation be repaired or does it need to be fully replaced?

Dee Verma

Hi Sonia, we have done many of these over the years. yes it can be repaired with the existing unit, but the finished result is perhaps not as good as it would be if it was a new sealed unit. also the difference in cost and saving is not much either. depends what you want. fitting new one's will be better as the quality has improved over the years and there is now a far greater choice of units and each type offer a different energy rating which improves the insulation of a property - which the earlier units couldn't do. hope this helps.
