I have a skylight fitted into my kitchen ceiling which is operated by a manual screw winch opening mechanism, I am thinking of replacing it due to the fact that the plaster which the open mechanism is fitted to seems to be destroying the plaster...Is there a way I can just replace how it's opened or would the whole window have to be replaced? It's not a velux window, nor is it very big, however I'm fed up of bits of plaster flaking off whenever I open it.
