Incomplete double glazing installation

Posted by Tony Dickson, on
Hi, we had 8 windows replaced on 16th April, and have had issues since then. The upstairs windows are not sealed on the outside, the sealing is full of gaps downstairs, and 7 of the windows are nor sealed underneath. We also have 6 window handles that are the wrong way round for us, they have been fitted for a left handed person, and we are both right handed. We were never asked which side we wanted handles to face, and the fitter was quite aggressive in the way he dealt with us. We have since tried contacting the original salesman, who said he worked freelance, so had no sway with the company (Safestyle UK), but gave us his boss's phone number. We have also been given a number for the team that install in our area. One fitter came out to see, and agreed the fit was not completed, and that we needed someone to come out to finish the job. Since then, we have heard nothing. Where do we go from here?

Hi Tony The best advice would be to contact Trading Standards at your local council if the company is ignoring the issues with the windows. They will take a lot more notice of them and will hopefully get it sorted! Ed
