Can a glass splash back be bonded to a double glazed unit ?

We have a large structural glass cube installed on back of house. Company have made a mess, including the colour of the side panels - they have now stuck glass splash backs onto the faulty side units ( wrong colour) - which are also faulty ( defective paint work) & they are suggesting overlaying another splash back onto the faulty panes. Understandably we are not happy - is this an acceptable solution or should they replace the original double glazed units as we have requested.
