Wooden windows - fix or replace

Posted by Izzy , on
We have wooden windows, some which are fine but others which are rotten (one so badly it’s rotten inside too). We have tried to maintain them getting the repainted a couple of years ago by a reputable company but they are already peeling (they already visited a year after to repaint as they peeled within 12 months) and one door where resin was used to fix a rotten window, it’s basically ruined. The front of the house is pretty poor, the back is actually fine. Are we doing something wrong? They were undercoated and painted properly but it’s just not lasting. Is there an affordable way to to get timber replacements? Does anyone know an approximate cost? (We’d need at least 3 sets of double French windows 150x185, a single one 90x185 and probably a couple of normal casement windows too
