We had a very expensive modern composite door fitted. Its dark grey, with a bar handle on both sides, and key unlock on the outside,
Right from the start it wouldn’t unlock from either inside or outside and the fitter agreed it was initially fitted poorly and did remove and refit. It was much better.
However, it won’t unlock when the sun is out. You can hear the door cracking as it expands. We’ve had the fitter back a couple more times and he tinkers but the problem persists. The fitter insists that it is the fault of the door, the modern type of door, wrong colour, house faces wrong way (he says it’s south facing but is in fact east facing).
Is he right or is he making excuses for a poorly fitted door?
