George and his team are experienced builders, replaced my front door with a custom frame/sidelights and raising the floor level in the hallway quite quickly - in fact, they were the only who came next day, gave a quote straightaway and were ready to start in just couple of days. Spartan Construction is a new Business formed by an experienced workforce. We cover North West England but focus mainly in Lancashire and Cumbria.
Luke gave a decent quote for some roof, paving & fence work. What they did complete was good, but they did not finish the job. Communication was very frustrating and I had to constantly chase for updates. I stupidly paid the full balance after the garden was complete, but before the roof work was. It's now 9 weeks on & despite repeated assurances that they will come back (and me offering a further £200 to complete the roof work), I do not believe they intend to return. 3/5

Tom came to skim my son's ceiling but because it had old artex and very uneven he decided to put a false ceiling in, board that and then skim it. I initially left a 5-star review because the job seemed well done. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The replacement lock stopped working within two days and had to be repaired again. The inner safety glass panel also shattered two days after the work. I can't say what caused the glass to break, as nobody touched it after he left, but the timing is very concerning. I started with a faulty lock and ended up with a shattered glass panel.

I found the biggest problem when arranging for work was only about a quarter of tradesmen who I contacted actually wanted to come and look at the job. Then they would give you a quote off the top of their heads with hardly any details. The exception was Metro who gave a full quote detailing exactly what the quote included. Once deal agreed they turned up every day at 8am and carried out the work to a high standard. There were some issues but they were soon resolved without argument. Recommended.
