I am a licensed plumber and prior moving from Australia to Ireland, I ran my own plumbing business, I worked for a couple of plumbing company and I spent 20yrs in the Royal Australian Navy. I've spent 35 years working as a plumber in the A.C.T, Sydney and in the Navy. Whilst in the navy, apart from plumbing, I worked on the ships propulsion, diesel generation and water purification systems. Other tasks including welding, fitting, electrical fault finding and mechanical repairs. I have plumbing experience, working for one of Sydney’s leading commercial plumbing maintenance company and other company within Newcastle (Aust). After a week or so of back and forth as they kept cancelling, they sent 2 young lads who had 0 to little experience. Most of the work will need redone. They created alot of mess and had to use my ladders for some of the work which was not very professional and took 2 days for a few hrs of work as they couldn't do it. Their manager was very apologetic but still charged £500 for the "work" Terrible experience.

Very disappointed with this “tradesman” and his work. Things went well initially with Mervyn helping to design our bathroom refurb. The work itself seemed to go reasonably well but he when he was called back to fix a leak in the shower this wasn’t done adequately. More and more silicone was added, without fixing the leak. Eventually, when the shower leaked so badly that water poured through our living room ceiling, this guy wouldn’t even answer his phone. My advice would be to avoid.
I have been a joinery for 13 years served my time with a good squad of joiner and was well trained in all aspect of joiner. I have my level 3 NVQ and diploma in carpenter and joinery. I do all joiner work and take on small renovation contracts, can supply and fit all materials. Always leave a neat and tidy job and keep the customer happy and I am happy to answer any question you may have about your job. When doing renovation job i do my own joinery work and organize the other trades(bricklayer, plaster etc) i deal with all the trade and the stress so you don't have to.
