Missing mortar

Posted by Karl Pearson, on
Hi there, I was look for some advice I have a single brick that is missing mortar from one edge. Looks like it never had any from when the house was built a few years ago but I have only just seen it as it is down the side of the house that isn't used. My question is how to fill it? How do you stop the mortar just pushing into the cavity on the other side of the brick that I cannot access? Thanks in advance.

Good morning Karl, what you describe sounds like a weephole. These allow any water that has found its way into the property to escape. If this is the case you certainly shouldn't be attempting to fill the void. I hope this helps.
