Gillian. You will get differing prices for your rewire as it will depend on your location in the country.Generally the cost will be higher in the south of England but anywhere between 2+3K sounds about right. Advertise the job on here and you'll get 3 quotes no problem for that type of job. Make sure they are registered to a scheme i e NICEIC / NAPIT or similar as you'll have comeback should anything go wrong.

Hello Gillian, Welcome to the site. £3000 should be a good budget Best to get an on site survey/quotation done, this is a free service to you and you will get 3 quotes. Simply post your job onto rated people's site. You are not obliged to go with any of the quotes- but every job that's posted is paid for by the relevant tradesmen .if they contact you that means they are interested in your job. If one of them are awarded the job then great news for you both. ratedpeople.com Regards Michael

Hi Gillian I would normally charge between £2k and 2.8k. This includes replacing everything up to and including the consumer unit, all wiring and smoke/heat detectors sockets lights etc. Notification and certification as well. The reason for the variation in price because having a rewire done is a messy business for you so it is best and cheaper for you if the property is empty. If the electricians have to spend time moving furniture etc around on a daily basis, this will reflect on the price.

Good Afternoon Gillian, I would normally charge for a standard full rewire of a 3 bedroom property, including mains linked heat and smoke detector between £2200.00 to £2600.00 but this would exclude any plastering works. Please make sure that any electricians that you employ to carry out these works are Part P registered or part of an electrical like NICEIC. I myself are part of NICEIC fully approved.

Hi Gillian You should expect to pay £ 3 - £ 3.5k for a full rewire including mains linked smoke detectors and to include making good plaster.
