Condensate soakaway for gas boilers

Posted by D Robinson, on
We had a condensate soakaway fitted by gas engineers out in the frontof house in the soil. Recently had block paving done and they threw away the soakaway and piped it straight to ground. Is this correct or should I ask to have a soakaway put back with maybe a cover on it?

The condense NEEDS to go into a soakaway filled with limestone as the condense from the boiler is acidic and needs to be neutralised . If this isnt in place the acidic condense can damage the foundations
