Query qualifications?

Posted by Nicola lewis, on
Aerial network regulations. When asking a trades person for help with TV signal problems, aerials etc, entertainment wiring etc. how do I know if they are properly trained?

Hi Nicki, hopefully the person fitting the aerial is suitable trained with certification equivalent to either City and Guilds level 2 or the SVQ 1687 in Electrical and Electronic Servicing (Signal Reception). Although many tradesman whom are electrical engineers ( not specifically electricians ) may also be able to assist. The could obviously have been an apprentice with another aerial fitter for a few years prior, however this normally results in a formal qualification. Kind regards, Matt ELCERT
