Property that previously used Virgin Media

Posted by James Lindsay, on
I have just moved into a property (rented) where the previous tenants used Virgin Media for TV, broadband. Where I would expect there to be a TV aerial cable port for Freeview channels, there is a Virgin Media casing with an F connector cable sticking out of it. I connected this to my TV via coaxial cable and no channels are being picked up through auto time. My landlady advised that TV an broadband were disconnected when the previous tenants vacated and we would have to arrange for this to be reconnected ourselves. Rather than be forced to take up a service with Virgin Media, would aerial fitters be comfortable with replacing this Virgin Media cable with a standard TV aerial cable? Would this be a standard service that can be provided? Thanks JL
