Ben’s journey in construction started at an early age. He grew up on construction sites alongside his father, who had a long-standing background in construction and worked directly on government projects. This gave Ben an early understanding of construction that came from being around real projects, real trades and the realities of building. He later studied Architecture, developing a deeper understanding of design, structure and how buildings come together. NOAH Construction was then established as a way to build something of his own. In just three years, the company has progressed from delivering smaller projects to successfully undertaking works ranging from approximately £50,000 to £1 million in value. Today, Ben combines three important parts of his background: hands-on construction experience from an early age, architectural education, and experience working within larger-scale construction environments. His particular passion remains timber and craftsmanship, but his approach to construction goes beyond one material or trade. We needed some buttresses built to support a garden wall. Fred was able to provide very practical help and advice which we were more than happy to act upon. The work was delivered in a timely way and to a very high standard. The guys were always cleaning up after themselves and always left the site clean and tidy. Recommendation "We have recently employed NML Contracts to undertake work on our house of a challenging nature and for which the usual jobbing builder and plumber declined to quote. NML Contracts have demonstrated skills and initiative in dealing with the unexpected and produced a thoroughly satisfactory and pleasing result which has materially improved the attractiveness and serviceability of the house . The work included incorporating a porch into the lounge area , requiring an RSJ some 4.4m in length, In the course of construction t was found that the roof was concrete and was supported by the outer skin of the house, whereas the roof of the house was conventional timber and was supported by the inner skin. It was therefore necessary to use the RSJ to support the concrete and provide suitable timber supports for the main roof . This was done most expertly and quickly and was approved by the building inspectors. All energy conservation requirements were fully met .
