I am a self employed Carpenter and Joiner and specialise in fitting kitchens, bespoke/built-in furniture and storage solutions and laying wooden flooring. I also work with a small team on larger projects, consisting of me, a fully qualified plumber, a fully qualified electrician, a plasterer and tiler and a decorator. As a team we fit Bathrooms, Large Kitchens, and undertake Full House Renovations. Although I am a relatively young carpenter, I am not inexperienced and have been doing this sort of work for over 8 years, and definitely feel I have something to prove when it comes to my trade knowledge and quality of workmanship. I have concerns about the validity of this contractor; I have been advised by an independent contractor that the work is of a poor standard and will need to be rectified. I also have evidence of dishonesty. He told me he needed extra money to replace wooden battens but refused to provide a receipt. Ii have security cameras and it was clear that he had not delivered them. The following day he said that his contractors had 'cut off the rotten bits' and used concrete. I am taking legal action.
