Waste from bath & sink

Posted by Peter Ingram, on
My property is a bungalow and both the waste pipes go out the wall to a drain. Is there any specific way the pipes should be rum to the drain. Currently they run straight down then at a right angle and join together at a 'T' and then go straight down to the drain. It like a T below two I I all at right angles. T

Hi there. Photos of what you currently have would help a better quality answer but the setup prior to what you have outside is more important. Does the water and waste move without obstruction? Do you have any nasty smells at any of your sinks? Does the outside drain area have any nasty smells? Are there any leaks between the sinks and the drain area? If the answer to these questions is no then externally you pipe work should ideally be angled so the outflow is down to the drain so that nothing lies in the pipework. Other than this the pipework may not look glamorous and it may be able to be made to look nicer.
