We are looking to make walk in wardrobe with stud walling is it a job for a builder or carpenter ?

I've had a builder come in and mess up my extension and took 7K of my money. I know want to rectify these damages and I own several properties which I need to do work in and so I hire a general contractor to take care of this sort of stuff. I was wondering so I was wondering should I hire subcontractors or manage the project myself? is it any cheaper? I feel as though I'd have more control of the project if I manage it myself... any thoughts?

Looking at turning the front garden into an extension of the driveway, the area is roughly 4m sq. Would like the side driveway re-done in the same material which is approx 15m in length and 3m wide. Looking at stone slabs rather than concrete. How much would I need to set my budget at to have this kind of job done?

I would like to obtain a quote to renovate my bathroom, but would like get some advice prior to listing it for quoting. My bathroom is standard size for a 1930's maisonette (previously had a small bathtub but owner removed this due declining health/mobility) purchased with small square shower cubicle and electric shower, high level toilet/cistern and hand basin. When carpet was lifted noted hole in floorboard, so will need to have this section replaced. Need to change the light fitting and to install an extractor fan. There has been minor water incursion from upstairs - would also like advice about what I can install to reduce future incursions (?water membrane). Effectively I would like to remove all existing items and to freshen and renew bathroom and increase storage/update modernise. I want to convert lower ground floor from storage /utility to living room and shower room. Room is 25 meters square and approx 2 metres high and floor is 1 meter below ground level. A survey revealed damp in walls up to 1 meter. There is an external door and window. House is on hill well above water level, it is a back to back terraced house with already converted basements on all three neighbouring sides. Will it need full tanking at approx what cost?

I have a meeting with our building firm tomorrow. The project has had lots of issues - which i thought were down to poor measurements and architectural plans. Questions. 1. Other than cost concerns / hassle....Any reason why we can not have have a 'cranked' steel to raise the height of the steel in the right hand side of photo? room (currently the whole steel, and more will be visible from the inside rather than recessed into the ceiling) 2. is it normal to have the steels bolted together like in the photo - my memory of physics suggests the top steel should be resting on the upright steels.... thanks very much indeed Hi I have a meeting with our building firm tomorrow.
