Electricity tripping damaging appliances

Posted by Jana Kotlarova, on
Can constant electricity tripping for almost 2 months cause kitchen appliances to be damaged by it? I had a newly fitted electric shower and the spare MCB was used to run the connection from the fuse upstairs to the isolator switch by a friend (apparently an electrician) of the Part P electrician I hired who unfortunately only fitted the actual new electric shower and fitted a booster pump rather than do the whole job I hired him to do. The electricity started tripping not long after the whole job was done, starting with kitchen appliances stopping working (microwave, kettle the next day, shower stopped working when in use and all started tripping everything connected to the MCBs on the left of the RCD- kitchen sockets, upstairs lights, boiler, electric shower with its own circuit, Internet, and TV and downstairs floor lamps. Recently also downstairs kitchen light. The Part P electrician failed to come and check the fuse box, shower unit for almost 7 weeks. The tripping was happening on and off. He came few days ago and realised at last after opening the fuse box and seeing the wires that 1 MCB wire was loosen, downstairs socket MCB was not "sitting" in place and the busbar was also not in place. He connected it again. My question is does all of this tripping for last almost 2 months caused my 5 appliances getting damaged? Some appliances are new and bought shortly after the wiring was done and shower fitted as described above? I had to throw them away as the electricians were telling me the tripping of my electricity in places and stopped appliances including shower and lights I described was because of any of my appliances was faulty which obviously ended up being not true as all was caused by a loose wire, displaced MCB and displaced busbar.
